Once you belong to Him, God never lets you go

I was brought up in church and Sunday school, and loved going there.

When I was 17 I committed my life to Jesus at a Youth Group camp, and really tried to live what I thought was a Christian life,  As I grew older, work, friends and social life began to draw me away from church a little, and then I married and had a family.  That seemed to take up most of my time although there was still a little pull there towards the church.  Things were going along fine, and I decided finally that God really had no place in my life, I Had no need of Him.

However, soon after that decision, at age 35 I found myself in a hospital bed with cancer.  I had a young family aged 10, 6 and 3, so it was a very frightening time.  I knew my own father, who was wonderful to me, would help me if he could, but there was nothing he could do, so I just called out “”Abba Father”” and instantly I felt the strong presence of my heavenly Father.  I do not believe that God is responsible for my having cancer, but He used the situation to bring me back to Him.  Since that time I have never ceased to trust in God – through many  illnesses and problems over the years. I truly believe that once you have given your life to God, He never lets you go, even though, like me, you might decide to turn your back on Him.

After I had recovered, God led me to Wheelers Church, where I found, and still do, love and friendship in abundance.
